ABOUT THE FORUM
As demonstrated in recent global conflicts, port infrastructures are facing unprecedented multi-domain threats, highlighting the growing vulnerabilities of our critical maritime assets. Despite this, existing regulatory frameworks and international conventions have not kept pace with this new reality. The Port Infrastructure Protection Forum brings together academia, government, industry and maritime experts to coordinate a practical international response.

Panel Overview
PANEL I: Policy, Regulation and the Global Threat Landscape
Featuring representatives from international maritime regulatory bodies, European maritime safety institutions, leading academic and research institutions, and national authorities. Discussions will address critical gaps in existing frameworks, the need for updates to maritime security conventions, and global coordination mechanisms.
PANEL II: Integrated Security Solutions
Introduction of PORTS™ - Port Operational Resilience & Threat Security, an integrated, multi-layered security solution redefining port security.
PANEL III: Industry and Implementation
Featuring port authorities, operators, insurance and risk management organisations and maritime industry experts. This panel will focus on practical challenges, risk and compliance considerations as well as public-private cooperation models.
PANEL IV: Industry and Training
Addressing the intersection of security, labour markets and education. This panel explores targeted skills-based training for the UK's estimated 250,000 Ukrainian refugees, of which over half are of working age, but face barriers to employment due to language barriers and access to further training. The panel will address skills-based training across a number of key areas including:

UK-UKRAINE STRATEGIC DIMENSION
This forum uniquely combines the UK’s global maritime, regulatory and financial expertise, with Ukraine's real-world operational experience in maritime and critical infrastructure defence. With the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the integration of policy leadership and battlefield-informed expertise provides a unique foundation for developing actionable outcomes to secure our critical port infrastructures against the modern day realities and threats they are facing today.
